I am here to tell you that all of you who can snap your fingers, along with
Earle Hagen's little boy, to enjoy it while you can. After carpal tunnel
surgery on both hands, I can no longer do this, much to my consternation! I
can, however, still whistle the theme song so must console myself with

composer Earle Hagen's eleven-year-old son Deane. Once Sheldon Leonard approved
it, they had to re-record it later with someone else doing the snapping,
because Deane was not a member of the musicians union. Earle a

couldn’t confirm my information. Thankfully Gaither has a better
memory than me and pointed me right to that odd fact known by few in
“The Definitive Andy Griffith Show Reference” by Dale Robinson and

Does anyone know who it is that snaps the finger in the TAGS opening theme
song? I have a theory that it is someone from the Addams Family seeing
they all snap their fingers in their opening theme song? And further more,
seeing that Uncle Fester once appeared on TAGS as Melissa Stevens' daddy, I
