Yesterday I watched the Alabama/Auburn football game.It dawned on me that
Auburns' school colors
were the same as Mayberry Union High..blue and orange.The announcer mentioned a
player on
the Auburn team by the name of Jerry Judy.The announcer immediately blurted out

Last night I attended my local hometown football game.I was scanning the
program and looking
at the size(s) of the visiting players.One name caught my eye.One player's last
name was Fife.
He was not small and wiry as Barney describes himself frequently.This high
school player was

but, What it is was football is incorrect english.
That's because the actual title is What it WAS was football. My biggest pet
peeve is when people ask Where are you AT? or Where is it AT? as if At is
needed

So what is the special connections??
Must be the colors - same as Mayberry Union High - blue and orange. There's an
old joke about U of F - It's God's school cause the sky is blue and sun is
orange (even though we know it's yellow). Kinda like Everything is AOK in
Mayberry. which it isn't.
