Hope everyone is managing winter as best as possible. I am still digging
out things from the flood back at Christmas. Lost a few things then.
Lost a few now to mold. But we made it. I have been through Camille. So,
most of the time things can be rode through.
About the gun rack, I

I maybe can clear the gun rack thingy.
Back in the early 1960s I was a lookout in the hometown fire tower110
feet up. To get to it you had to take down a chain across the road
supposedly locked with a padlock. Only the padlock wasn't locking it...it was
just
there to make people

Did anybody ever notice that in The Clubmen, when Andy hid Barn's shoes,
there was no lock on the gun rack? And Barn had been sleeping in the back
room,. so how many criminals walking the streets of Mayberry had access to all
those guns???

By the way Emmet, I always assumed that the gun rack was unlocked each
morning, then relocked at night. Barney simply put the gun back in the
rack
during the day while it was unlocked.

Just noticed something in the episode, TV or Not TV where the movie
people are talking to Andy in the courthouse, when Barney walks in with a
rifle and walks right over and puts it in the gun rack without unlocking the
bar that is suppose to prevent the guns from being removed from the rack
On another subject, what do you suppose was the security issue at the
Mayberry County Courthouse/Jail facility that prompted the addition of
the locking bar in the gun case? Near as I can tell, its not there until
Season 4, Citizen's Arrest episode. Might be fun to speculate on what
would
