On a recent Dr. Phil that involved teachers being intimate with their
high school students, for shame, he appeared shocked and said "This is
out of my element, when I was in high school all the teachers were like
Aunt Bee!" I felt proud to the max.

While watching the most recent episode of the CBS series "Blue Bloods" last
Friday, I was pleasantly surprised to hear 2 references to Mayberry/TAGS
during the show's weekly family dinner, proving again the staying power and
influence of our favorite program.

I was sitting at a clinic waiting for my wife to have her physical. They
had a cooking show on the TV. I was watching it and a guy tasted a food
the chef made and he said, :"This is great. Like watching a Mayberry
rerun." Wow, that is high praise. That must have been some food.

Today in the film Ant-Man, a character says he wants to whistle on duty
and the leading character says no whistling, this is not the Andy
Griffith Show! Most of the audience chuckled but many were too young to
get it. I sure did and smiled with pleasure.

At the final stage show on the Rockin' cruise last night, a
comedian/impressionist named Mike Wilson rendered a most wonderful Barney
Fife and said terrorism stops ritecheer! Everybody howled with laughter
and I felt so proud. Barn's photo is on the back of his DVD sleeve; another

There is an SUV around my area that I keep seeing and hearing. It has a high
pitched noise and I am sure something is going out on it. It goes by my house
regularly and I have seen it in town. I told my husband (like Floyd says) it
has a whine like a crying child.

Catching up on newspaper reading of USA Today, I saw a Mayberry reference. It
was about Tuscarora indians in NY; remember that was Mr. Dave's magic word to
get gumballs out of the gumball machine without a coin? Do you suppose he was
from up there?
