To those of us that are lucky enough to be from West Virginia, Don was more than Mr. Furley or Deputy Fife. He was a kind, gentle, humble and much beloved as a native son who never ignored his roots. At the time of his passing, there were numerous stories of how he never forgot home and friends, how he would still attend his high school class reunions and simply enjoyed the company of old friends.
