Today, for some reason, I watched the opening 10 minutes or so of a movie
on TCM called "Untamed Youth" - not exactly an Oscar nominee, to put it
mildly. The "plot" had Mamie Van Doren playing a teenage girl, who with her
sister was arrested for skinny-dipping and hitchhiking and sentenced to a
rock'n'roll farm labor camp for juvenile delinquents.

Anyhow, the judge who sentenced them was none other than former "widow"
Annabelle Silby (a/k/a Lurene Tuttle) from "Opie's Charity". She was
sentencing the youth to work at her boyfriend's ranch, so he could get free
labor. How's that for a storyline? Pretty surprised to see her in that role
- especially back in the 50's when I don't think there were too many female
judges.
