A few months back TVLand had a marathon for the show M*A*S*H. I just got
a chance to watch some of them in the last few days. Its always good,
of course, to see TAGS guest stars William Christopher (Doctor and Tax
man) and Jamie Farr (Gypsies) as Father Mukahey and Klinger. I was
pleased to notice another TAGS connection I had never seen before. ( I
think they are doing MASH again this weekend)
A very famous episode "Abyssinia Henry": was written By Everett
Greenbaum and Jim Frizzell. These veteran TAGS writers scripted the
touching episode when Colonel Henry Blake, played by McLean Stevenson,
gets to go home, only to have his plane shot down over the Sea of Japan.
Leave it to TAGS writers for a touching moment on a wild show.
Abyssinia, of course, is also used on TAGS. "Abyssinia. See ya Somoa".

Someone asked a few days ago about Eli nor Donahue. Yes, she did leave
voluntarily after Season One. She said at a reunion event once that it
was just a time In her life that she needed to do something different.
I sensed that she regretted leaving as she did, but she needed a break
form TV at that time.

TVLand, tough topic. How a brother programs is his business, I guess.
I am thankful that they continue to show the Andy Griffith Show. I
respect those who want to protest their other programming choices. All
together now '"Row Row row your boat, Gently down the stream.. We will
not sing, we will not Sing!!!
