TVLand, in its episode description, has taken to saying that "Three Wishes for Opie" is, in the opinion of many, the greatest episode ever. I completely agree. The eerie overtone — which in the end seems to point out that something supenatural is in fact occurring — adds a wonderful scare to the classic comedy. It's Goober's greatest show and Barney and Floyd are a wonderful team. Helen is funny and lively as is Andy. And the Count is a scream! I have seen it dozens of times and still watch it whenever it's on. I wish TVLand would have a Andy marathon of ghostly episdoes on Halloween. It could run with: Three Wishes The Haunted House The Darlings and the disappearing ink and Andy's "witchcraft a little on my momma's side" The Gypsys Digging up the divorce and the black rider on a white horse Any other episodes? And then run "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken" with it. There were a lot of ghostly moments on the show, come to ponder it a bit. Tom Lawrence "Andy" fan for life
