Thanks, Thelma Lou, I had a feeling I was missing an episode with Wally but
couldn't put my finger on it. So we had an on-screen Wally in 4 episodes.

I can find only 3 episodes where Wally appears on screen, each time with a
different actor. Man in a Hurry, The House Guest and Goober's Replacement.
Are there any others?

I'm a big fan of wallys and I like to learn details on it , I would love to buy
it one day and move there and make mayberry my home town.
I have a question about wallys, at the end of the island where the gas pumps
are there is a box on a small pedestal, what is that used for?

Hey Mike Peacock
I am a big fan of wallys, I would like to see the link you posted before about
old garages.
I must have missed it before.
I even built my garage to resemble wallys, I'm not finished yet and i need
more relics outside to complete the look but thats my plan.
My only problem
yes Sharon, they were called grease pits, usually for doing oil changes and
greasing fittings on suspension parts on vehicles.
But alot of work can be done under there also, been there done that !

In most scenes of wallys there isn't a garage door shown at all.
the left side is the door and the right is the picture window, but once
inside the garage gets way bigger, lol.
I know I know it's just a tv show, don't try and make too much sense out of
it,lol.
That reminds me of a saying
Hi Gang,
My oil change center (plus another in town) use the pit method for oil
changing. Only difference is back then they didn't have Penzoil :)
Glad to see some discussion about Wally's. A few weeks ago I posted
about the older gas stations like Wally's and a link to a site full of

In those days the bay doors were just two sliding doors that met in the middle
and they had windows at the top.
At the top was mounted a metal track that had rollers attatched to the door.
The overhead door had not yet been invented.
That is how goob got cars into the shop.

I too love wallys station, One thing that always bugged me was i couldn't
figure out how they got cars into the shop, alot of the episodes you never see
a bay door, behind the shop looks like woods and a good place for ernest t to
fight a englisher.
In the jimmy steals from wallys episode
