I imagined Barney paid very little for such an old relic with no real
provenance, especially in their rural neck of the woods. He might've even
talked his landlord into a late rental payment in order to do so. He
probably never even considered charging the county for the vehicle even
though he used it in his line of work, short-lived as it was.
