Recently my daughter participated in a regional spelling bee and took third place. (If she had won, she would have gone on to the national spelling bee in Washington D.C.) To determine the order of contestants, each participant was asked to draw a number, which they would then wear around their neck. My daughter drew out the number 11. After the bee was over she told me "Mom, the first thing I thought of when I drew my number was Clara and the way she said "eleven" when she bragged to Aunt Bee about how many times she won the pickle contest".
