Diced Cream was a convenience food, what we call single-serve packages
of ice cream. It was manufactured by Diced Cream of America Company and
in 1955 the company was dragged into the 9th Circuit Court to face
charges of price fixing. That's right, I said ice cream price fixing.

Who knew our grammar school principal had such an illustrious career before
Mayberry? I saw him again today in an Esther Williams/Van Johnson film at a
ski lodge. He was playing a butler again to some actor I'm not familiar with
but did a wonderful job. I recognized his voice before I looked at
Yesterday's post about Mayor Stoner playing a Nazi in a WW II picture reminded
me that I saw him at least once, maybe twice, as a German officer in Hogan's
Hero's. I guess that's the actor of the man.

I have a silly question. Watching the Horse Trader, in Ellie's drug store
there is an ice cream sign on the wall behind the counter advertising: DICED
CREAM. My question is, what is diced cream?

It must be that new checkerboard ice cream that just came out in
Barney and Gomer had to get rid of only 945 jars of Miracle Salve
because I have one of them. One of the clubs (I can't remember which
one) sold jars of Miracle Salve many years ago at Mayberry Days. Maybe
they they bought out the whole lot. It doesn't cure the mange but does a
great job on
