My husband surprised me Friday by taking a half-vacation day and going with
me to Danville, Indiana for the Saturday Eat Up of the Briscoe of Mayberry
Chapter at the Mayberry Cafe. It was wonderful seeing Bob and Pat and
meeting new friends and seeing former acquaintances. The best was when
Randy Turner arrived and saw us. I wasn't for sure it would work out that
we could go, so I hadn't said anything to him, but it was worth every penny
to see the look of surprise on Randy's face as we had driven to Indiana
from North Central Missouri (5 1/2 l-o-n-g hours). He gave his
presentation at the Library, and as I told a friend, "That man is a spewing
fountain of TAGS knowledge!" It was such a grand program, and we so
enjoyed every minute. We were all mesmerized as he took us back to a
simpler time, or as he so accurately states, TAGS is escapism in the best
sense of the word. If anyone is within a day's drive of where Randy is
scheduled to talk, please do yourself a favor, and in the words of
(manequin) Barney, "Go, go, go, go!"
