"Banjo- Playin' Deputy"

2020-04-04 Thread Jim and Nancy Faivre
I picked up on some curious things in this episode. First, Jerry goes in the
back room and is next seen wearing a perfectly fitted uniform. ( Guess they had
a uniform store in the back where he and Otis got their uniforms, as well as
Gomer). Andy then left the courthouse saying he was going to the carnival and
was not wearing his gun belt and gun. When he got to the carnival he had it on.
Then when he stopped the two purse robbers he told them to get moving,
presumably to the patrol car, but then he stood there talking to Jerry. The two
robbers could have been half way across the fair grounds by that time! Curious,
Curious.

Thanks for the insight - where I come from, "up" and "down" refer strictly
to geography and direction, not size - really interesting.

Batman

2020-04-04 Thread Elizabeth Busby
While watching a Batman TV show from 1966, the Penguin was the villain and
Al (Dove) Checco was one of his toadies. I looked him up and found he was a
friend of Don Knotts from WWII army days. He and Don performed for their
army unit. Al would sing a song or two then Don would bring his dummy and
do a show. Not only was Al in a couple of TAGS, he was also in some of
Don's movies. Elizabeth in Ga

The Month of MAY-berry

2020-04-04 Thread Jeff Koontz
Hopefully by May we will be safely able to get out of the house, but if not,
MeTV is celebrating all things Mayberry next month.

https://www.metv.com/lists/metv-presents-the-month-of-mayberry-throughout-may

The line up of shows throughout the month are listed on their website and
include other shows that featured TAGS cast members, the 1986 Return To
Mayberry movie, and (hopefully) some trivial trivialities from someone who
knows sprinkled in between the commercials. To quote Otis, "wait and see."

Here are some Mayberry ideas for things to do while you are "safer at home"

   -  Listen to the Two Chairs No Waiting Podcast.
https://imayberry.com/podcasts/  There are 575 eps now available.

  -  Write a letter or postcard to a friend. No chain letters, please.  And
keep peek-a-boo for the babies and not blouses.

  -  Watch TAGS episodes and look in the background for people walking by,
things on the walls, and the position of walls, windows, and furniture.

  -  Browse the merchandise at Weaver's Department Store and place an order.
Exclusive t-shirt designs and coffee that is a lot better than Sanka (that's
good coffee). Delivered right to your door so you don't have to leave the
house. https://www.weaversdepartmentstore.com/index.php

Stay safe,

Jeff

odd feelings

2020-04-04 Thread Janine L Johnson
In watching Convicts at Large today I wondered how Barney felt having to
treat the lovely lady who gave him singing lessons like a convict? It
sure was odd how they used the same actors in different roles, not
knowing how long this series would endure. I always think of Jean
Boswell and Darlene Mason being played by the same girl. And how about
that lady who first appeared as Miss Rosemary, a would-be partner of
Barn and later served in many roles, including Otis' sister-in-law.
