Sylvia asked about Goober and Howard growing up in Mayberry. I believe they did, or at least got there as youngsters. Andy mentioned Howard being shy in High School. Also Goober age 5 was present at the first Punch in the Nose Case, reading a comic book waiting for a haircut.
