I was searching for info on a certain Dick Van Dyke Show that I have
never seen, but would like to, and I found out it this episode
influenced Sheldon Leonard:
From a 21st-century point of view, it seems ridiculous to praise a
series for using African-American actors in roles other than maids
For all prolific fans of TAGS, I would recommend purchasing 'Gomer Pyle
USMC' Season 5 on DVD, just recently released. (You know where to buy it! -
Whose store is being robbed?) I like it for the sole reason of having
Sheldon
Leonard appear, playing a director in 'A Star is Not Born

Sheldon was an incredible person in show biz. Producer, director, biographer;
I'm probably leaving something out. He was great in It's A Wonderful Life.
Kind while George was born and mean when not born. Nice to see him in
Hi, all I was watching It's a Wonderful Life today and was watching the
credits. There was a Sheldon Leonard that played Nick. Is this the Producer
of our favorite show.

Yes! Nick the Bartender was, indeed the same Sheldon Leonard who produced TAGS
and so many other classic TV shows
The sponsor ad for The Bookie Barber has a treat. It's
AGS Exec. Producer Sheldon Leonard, playing a heavy
whispering out of the side of his mouth outside the
barbershop. Leonard was an accomplished actor, always
playing the heavy in B movies of the 40s. I recall him
in Zombies on Broadway
