Two Mayberry sighting in one day. Watched two movies in one day and saw
something from TAGS in each one. One was old and one was modern. TAGS is
eternally popular, ya know?
The first was
Dangerous Crossing (1953) starring the gorgeous Jeanne Crain. Willis Bouchey
(Charlie O'Malley) has a very big role as the ship's captain. Carl Betz from
another great show, "The Donna Reed Show" plays Jeanne's husband.
He played Donna Reed's husband and in this movie Jeanne Crain could pass for
Donna Reed's sister, they looked so much alike at this stage of their lives.
The next sighting was from a 2002 movie called "Blood Crime". James Caan
plays a sheriff with a large staff of deputies. Near the beginning of the
movie, one of the deputies makes a remark about how "This isn't Mayberry where
we deputies serve as crossing guards and get cats out of trees!" I personally
didn't like this remark and found it to be unnecessary, but I have to be
defensive of our TAGS, don't I?
