Orville Hendricks - Mount Pilot Butter and Egg Man, you asked when Ferlin
Husky was mentioned.
In the episode Rafe Hollister Sings.
Barney says 'It's just honey and water. All the big singers use it. Nelson
Eddy, Tex Ritter, Ferlin Husky all of them use it.'
They all acted too.

I love how Andy mentions Elvis without actually saying his name "That
guy singing on TV and jumping and shaking all over. Sounds like someone's

Rock Hudson, Glenn Ford, Myrna Loy. Those are 3 I can think of
mentioned in TAGS. The other one, when Andy tells Opie, "that's the

Yesterday I experienced two Mayberry references in my tv watching. When
viewing that old movie Picnic, I heard the crowd at the event singing
Juanita in the background. Then later on the Lawrence Welk show, Arthur
Duncan tap-danced to the song the town choir sang that included the
words Voices
Wow Thelma Lou--very impressive!
Also classy Adolphe Menjou--Mr. Pendergast in Pollyanny (his last film.)
(Andy to Barney: "Ain't you the Adolphe Menjou of Mayberry!"

Well, with all the stars I was able to name, I can't believe I forgot Glenn
Ford! He's mentioned in one of my favorite episodes of all time, "The Bank
Job," and I forgot him. Dirty me, dirty me, I'm disgusted with myself! Ha!
