To Ken and Janine

2020-02-28 Thread Joe
Congratulations on the honor bestowed on you and your squad car - that's
quite an accomplishment.

And great pick-up, Janine, on that script "booboo" - isn't that what the
job of the "script continuity" person is, to catch those discrepancies?
And I love that idea for the Mayberry Theme Park - I volunteer to run the
shooting gallery. maybe bend those sights just a hair and watch the fun!

You're right Ken---this is not the world we grew up in. I, as may others,
have to rely on my Lord & Savior, & "TAGS" to get me through each & every
day!!! Regret all the tragedies that has hit your community so hard, all at
one time! I count my blessings daily for having moved to Mt Airy, NC!!!

Well Ken, you have surpassed all my expectations at this point! I
thought your wonderful columns were only in that one paper; I must be
out of the loop or my computer needs bigger wires. And now to hear you
are appearing in 5 different newspapers is simply astounding. We are all
so proud of you and your ambassadorship on our behalf. Keep up the good
work, good buddy!

2016 Jim Schwenke Award Presentation to Ken Anderson

2017-06-13 Thread Allan Newsome
Hey Mayberry,

I doubt most of you ever saw the video of when WBMUTBB's very own Ken
Anderson was awarded the Jim Schwenke award by The Andy Griffith Show
Rerun Watchers Club.

Here's a link to the LIVE version Two Chairs No Waiting Podcast I did
Monday night. During the live shows, I show videos and things that
never make it to the published version of podcast and can only be seen
during the "Live" broadcast or by Patreon patrons of Two Chairs No
Waiting.

As part of Monday's live show, the annual TAGSRWC meeting held during
Mayberry Days 2016 was shown. At about 59 minutes into the live show,
you can watch the presentation of the Jim Schwenke award to an absent
Ken Anderson. The link below should take you right to the correct
spot in the video if you'd like to watch and learn more about what the
Jim Schwenke is and to whom it is awarded.

https://youtu.be/nh3iPu1bWZ8?t=58m54s

I hope you enjoy seeing this and will join me in congratulating Ken in
receiving the award.

By the way, when we were in Mt Airy we attended the Presbyterian church

To Ken Anderson and Andys near death experiences

2011-04-27 Thread Holland Shoaf

Ken, you are the man ! Thanks for replying. I also would like to add that
Barney about got someone killed ( via Gentleman Dans trigger finger ) on the
Gentleman Dan Caldwell episode by placing a bullet in his gun without telling
Andy. I think Barney should have spoke up while Andy was trying Gentelman Dans
patience.

I think Andy came very close to having a near death experience on several
occasions. One was when Helen caught him with the Fun Girls in the courthouse
and the other was when Helen was sitting behind Andy and Mavis Neft at the
diner. You heard the old saying, "If looks could kill". I think the vein was
even sticking out on Helen's neck.

a lost letter to Ken???

2010-07-01 Thread GRITTON, JOE A (ATTOPS)
>From Ken Anderson

<>>

Ken , Thanks for sharing that. I somehow got a few of your letters that
got misdirected and mailed to me..perhaps they had my address from when
I had to do Community Service thre at the school for writing on the
walls. (you just can't get by with breaking rule 1 and rule 2) by the
way, it does take a lot of work to clean the writing off of walls.

Anyway here is another letter that I think was intended for you (but I'm
not sure).

Dear Mr. Anderson.
Let me git this strate. You're a full-growed man that goes out
on dates and haves a job and everything, and your tellin me that you get
to dress up in a trick-or-treat deputy outfit, with a play gun and badge
and everything???..and you get to sit around all day and play with
electric trains??? And you watch the Andy Griffin's show about 5 times
a day and Email all your buddies about what you saw??

Here I am 6 years old, bustin my hump carrying out trash, and sifting
the ashes and mowing the lawn and everything for a quarter a week!!!
How old do I hafta get before I can get a job like yours?

I spose the next thing yer gonna tell us is that you had enough
time to write a book about the Andy Griffin's show, and how it was like
your childhood in the olden days. Why do grown-ups get all the breaks??
I got a lousy wading pool out back, and a Buzz Lightyear doll, a Mr
Potato Head set, and that's about as good as it gets..except for my
pretty teacher.

Oh by the way Mr Anderson, about the teacher, ..I only know how to ride
bikes and Climb apple trees and stuff . Could you help out here..just
want can you do with a grown women???

Your fan Petey from the back row (I only fell asleep that one time)

Re: response to Ken Anderson---"Why this old guy watches TAGS"

2006-01-12 Thread Catnarnia
Thanks to Ken for his wonderful story of why he watches The Andy Griffith
Show!! It encouraged me and helped me remember some very special times I had
growing up that were similar to yours. However I grew up in a suburb of
Detroit--but had a small neighborhood store and friendly neighbors always
close
by! I think that tucked away in a corner of heaven is the Mayberry we all
long
for deep in our hearts. Meanwhile we make a difference where we are! On a
more funny note I would like to share with you all about my son's pets. He
has a dog named "Rafe". (Obviously he grew up with TAGS!). Then a little
kitty wandered onto my son's place and they named him "Otis". Well, when Otis
went to the vet's to get his shots my son was in for a surprise---he was not a
he, but a she!!! So now they have a cat named--"Miss Otis"! I laughed
and laughed when I heard that! My son says their next dog will be "Jud".
He makes me proud!! Have a great Mayberry Day!!
