[web2py] invalid function every other page view

Weird situation where I just created a new app from admin and have the simplest app. When a visit the page and continue to refresh, on about every other refresh I get "invalid function". I don't think I'm on any sort of round robin, load balancing. It's very strange. I've reloaded routes,
