[web2py] web2py hosting services

2015-09-15 Thread Blutoh
Hi all,

Most of the threads I found regarding Hosting Services seem to be very old.
AFAIK, the only current hosting service is Pythonanywhere.
I found this company, "Planet Host" (http://www.planethost.com/) but I
don't get
any response to my inquiries regarding web2py, so I am not sure of they
still
offer it. I have found some services claim to support web2py, but really
only
pay it lip service, and can't give the necessary configuration or support.

Are there any other hosting services out there I should know about? I
don't want
to go thru many gyrations just to get web2py to work, I am looking for a
service
that is "web2py aware" out of the box and knows how to properly support it.

Thanks,
Blutoh

[web2py] Web2py Hosting

2014-05-22 Thread 'sasogeek' via web2py-users
I've been looking around for python hosting websites that I can get my
web2py deployed on but none of them is easy to work with. I'd rather prefer
the ease to work on my application than having the headache of getting
online, which really should be easy to do. I tried the solution given me in
this
threadhttps://groups.google.com/forum/#!msg/web2py/6UFqcBEeFkw/V1cUccN17jkJ
for
dreamhost deployment. it worked for sometime and then passenger just broke
without me even doing anything. I got off the hosting service now and I'm
searching for a new place. PythonAnywhere is good, but I can't get my
application at a domain i want unless I have www in front of it by force...
I learned web2py.com is hosted on PythonAnywhere, and I'd like to know how
that works, having web2py.com working without necessarily having the www in
front of it? or if there's a better solution

[web2py] web2py hosting

2012-06-09 Thread Massimo Di Pierro
It would be great if somebody where to make a simple good looking web site

Does the official web2py site have a wiki where community members can create /

[web2py] web2py hosting on VPS server for enterprise

2012-03-28 Thread Omi Chiba
I'm looking for VPS service for our company to running web2py apps.

Requirements
---
OS: Windows2008
Database: MS SQL 2008
RAM: 2GB or higher
Domain: we will get from domain.com
---

I'm pretty interested with kickassvps.com. It looks nice and good pricing
but not sure if our managment team likes it (including the name) :)

Do you guys know good vps service companies not for personal but more like
enterprise level with my requirements ?

[web2py] web2py hosting on dotcloud

2012-02-27 Thread cyan

Hi everyone,

I'm new to web2py framework, and would like to host some app on
dotcloud (dotcloud.com).

Apparently, people have managed to done this successfully, and I
wonder if someone could share their experience/procedure to deploy a
web2py app on dotcloud.

I've been trying to use dotcloud's CLI 0.4 to deploy just the plain
off-the-shelf web2py, but keep getting uWSGI Error wsgi application
not found when I go to the app url. I have the following setup:

funback/
  backend/
web2py/
wsgi.py - ./web2py/wsgihandler.py
  dotcloud.yml
  README

and inside dotcloud.yml:

funback:
  approot: backend
  type: python
db:
  type: postgresql

Can anyone suggest a possible cause of the problem and the remedy to
fix it? Thanks a lot.
