Thanks. I finally managed to download the source by using a different
computer. As a result I have created a patch file and updated the bug.
 I will have to check, but can only assume that although I had admin

caused a problem when downloading the source using cygwin.

The following error has occurred during XML parsing:

File: C:\cygwin\home\Jack Wootton\WebKit\WebKit\win\WebKit.vcproj\WebKit.vcproj
Line: 23
Column: 4
Error Message:

The file 'C:\cygwin\home\Jack

I searched for 'commin.vsprops' and found it in

WebKit\WebKitLibraries\win\tools\vsprops

The error message shows visual studio is looking for it in

$(WebKitLibrariesDir)\tools\vsprops\

Is the error caused by the missing 'win' directory and if so why is it missing?

Re: [webkit-dev] how to destroy JSObjescts?

2008-11-25 Thread Timothy Hatcher
JavaScript objects and the JavaScriptCore API objects (except
JSStringRef) are garbage collected. So sometime after the last
reference goes away, they will release their memory.

In this case when the global object goes away. If you want to
release them, you can call JSObjectDeleteProperty to remove the
reference.

You also need to call JSStringRelease here when you are done with the
jsstr variable.

I create several JSObjects like this:

   globalObject = JSContextGetGlobalObject(context);
   jsstr = JSStringCreateWithUTF8CString(MyObject);
   JSObjectSetProperty(context, globalObject, jsstr, js_object,
kJSPropertyAttributeNone, NULL);

From JavaScript i have: MyObject obj= new MyObject();

The problem is that the objects are never destroyed.
What can i do to release all these objects?

[webkit-dev] retreiving favicon on gtk port

2008-11-25 Thread zaheer ahmad
hi all,Iam trying to retrieve the favicon when loading a website. i find
that IconLoader::didfinishLoading gets called with valid data followed by a
IconLoader::didFail which clears the icon from the database. The comment in
didFinishLoading suggests that this is a valid scenario. it points
to rdar://problem/5463392 (this is an apple internal bug id, is there a way
to access this?). appreciate any inputs on why two indications are coming
for the same resource and how to overcome this problem.

[webkit-dev] copy/paste/keychain support?

2008-11-25 Thread Lev Lvovsky
I've recently started using the nightly builds, and I've found that
cut/copy/paste don't work when I run the browser running off of the
nightly webkit library - I wasn't able to find anything about this
online (perhaps I didn't use the right search string) - is this a
known issue?

Also, keychain support doesn't seem to work (doesn't remember
passwords etc...) - I can see why this might not be included, but
again, I just wanted to make sure that this is something that's
assumed we should be without in these builds.

Re: [webkit-dev] retreiving favicon on gtk port

2008-11-25 Thread Brady Eidson

Hi Zaheer,

I went ahead and filed https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=22489
which represents the radar you referenced.

What we saw happening is that you'd get didFinishLoading followed by
didFail it's because the SubresourceLoader is getting the main
resource of a server-provided 404 page, and *then* getting the error
callback because it was a 404.

In your test case where you're trying to download the icon, is this
what's happening?

Re: [webkit-dev] build webkit on windows

2008-11-25 Thread Brent Fulgham

Hi Dmitry,

On Nov 25, 2008, at 8:41 PM, Dmitry Markman wrote:

The DLL on Windows is a COM object. It is registered when the
DumpRenderTree program is executed. I believe you can force it to
register via a call to the standard regsvr32 WebKit.dll (executing
this in the same directory with the WebKit.dll you built).

The examples you are following (e.g., WinLauncher) use a COM call to
get the object:

HRESULT hr = CoCreateInstance (CLSID_WebView, 0, CLSCTX_ALL,
IID_IWebView, (void**)gWebView);

Windows has to know where to find the DLL that implements the IWebView
interface. The call to regsvr32 tells the OS that WebKit.dll is the
library to load to access this interface.

I suspect if you register your freshly-built WebKit.dll, you will get
the behavior you are looking for.
