I still run on OS X (El Capitan now) because one of my apps is still dependent
on dsimport to insert users into Open Directory. Soon there will be a new
directory server and this requirement will be gone. I do the same thing as

BTW, you can also install apache with homebrew if you do to want to compile it
yourself.

I’ve kept things around in /System/Library/WebObjects since the beginning -

Seriously, where were you 4 days ago, when I need all this !!!
My biggest problem with El Capitan was with Apache. Someone had installed the
OS X Server components, and it was hi-jacking port 80 (in a kinda random way).
I ended up finding its config, removing port 80 from its list of ports
ried this on OSX 10.11 ('El Capitan') mostly to see how

Firstly, the build fails because the Makefiles specify building the FastCGI
adaptor and by defautl we're missing some headers. We can fix that in
make.config by setting
ADAPTORS = CGI Apache2.4
Secondly, Apache 2.4

One last annoyance with the El Capitan machine, I can’t seem to open port 56789
for accessing javamonitor remotely.
I tried the steps outlined at the link below, but according to Network Utility
port scan it’s still not open. Also, I have the firewall completely turned off
under Security
Jeff:
Even if it were not El Capitan, I would not open that port to outside traffic.
Instead, use ssh to tunnel that traffic to localhost, like:
ssh -L 8080:localhost:56789 @
Then you can connect your browser to: http://localhost:8080 to interact w

Thanks to help from Patrick Middleton I did get up and running on El Capitan.

Eclipse Luna Service Release 2 (4.4.2)
WOLips 4.4.201510.13.47
All ideas welcomed.

Hello List,
I’m in the process of upgrading a server to El Capitan and apache is giving me
the below segmentation fault whenever I try to bring up a page on my

Hi all:
Doing “decently” well getting a deployment going on El Capitan. It’s a
temporary stop-over as some app dependencies still require some OS X bits.
Anyway, this is where I’m getting stuck. This stack trace is an attempted
launch from the command line as appserver:
This is running apache
you could set up a (default) timezone at app startup
if (System.getProperty("user.timezone") == null) {
System.setProperty("user.timezone", "EST");

I’ve been working on a new install of El Capitan. I found a problem with
running the app inside Eclipse until it was discovered that the java timezone
was not set and therefore, not allowing a connection to the database. This was
fixed by adding an argument to the Run Configuration

The El-Capitan installer un-installed WebObjects for me and then refused to
re-install from the 5.4.3 package until I disabled System Integrity Protection
(start the computer up in recovery mode, open a terminal and enter “csrutil
disable”). Probably due to the Installer attempting to modify

Does WOInstaller still work?

It allows you specify a different location for the WO frameworks than in
/Sys/Lib/Fram.
