[libreoffice-website] permission / 2 questions

2011-06-06 Thread Cor Nouws

Hi *,

'vpanter' and 'Pjotr' would like to help with the editing and publishing
on the Dutch language website.

Can you pls give them the necessary rights?

 = =

I have edit rights for the International part. But am not able to find
out where/how to access the pages.
Login via www.libreoffice.org/admin does show me the content for Dutch,
double plusses for the nodes in the page navigator, that does not work

 = =

In our Dutch language part, there are some pages that have a red, broken
link sign in the navigator part.

Does that indicate broken links on those pages?

Thanks for you help!

[libreoffice-website] [Wiki] [CMS] Special Page:EmailUser

2011-06-06 Thread ol klaus-jürgen weghorn

Hi Wikiadmins,
if there is a change on a wikipage which I have on my watchlist I get an
email. There it is a notice:

> Contact the editor:
> mail:
> http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Special:EmailUser/(name of the user)

But when I'm following such a link I get the message that there is no
such special page.
Is it possible to get such a page? So it is easier to talk to the person
who made the changes.

Grüße
k-j

I personally think that if we can get diffs by mails, it will be easier
to maintain local sites. If there's already an effective method to
follow the changes in the global site, please let me know.

Silverstripe provides this feature.

It has RSS capabilities, but unfortunately the one provided by the
cmsworflow module uses http-auth, but that doesn't work with the fcgid
module we're using.

Siverstipe sitll would make it easy to create an own custom feed, but
nobody did jump in and wrote it so far (see
http://www.mail-archive.com/website@libreoffice.org/msg04131.html )
I myself always pushed it back to have time for "more important" stuff
(or also to have some time to relay :-)

It would be fine if it is capable to notify only diffs. I'm sorry for
raising the previous topic, but maybe I can help in technical stuff.
As I found DataDifferencer class in the API doc, I believe it wouldn't
be so hard to implement.

Easiest would be, you (or/and others) claim an account for the
international pages and all the changes are going to be mailed to you
providing a link to the respective page(s).

This however is a different method - while that wold work, it is
probably not what the question was about :-))

I also thought this could be a good way. But, as Alexandro pointed out,
the problem is that each person has to get an account of the global
site, which I think is nasty especially for the administrator of the site.

BTW, if SilverStripe is capable of sending mails to admins, it wouldn't
be not very hard to make them send to public. What if we register a mail
alias as an administrator account just to receive diffs mails? This
seems the easiest way, although this is what I just come up with because
I personally don't use any RSS feed reader on daily basis and I still
want to stick on mail notification.

Sorry I was confusing the scripts, webchecker is actually to check for
broken links, the one I was refering to is urlwatch which is written in
python, you can get here:

Thanks. Seems fine for me as far as I see the basic features list. I'll
try it out. This would reduce my efforts to some extend.

I have one question regarding this page.

Why does "DataPilot" come after "Impress/Draw"? I think it would be
natural if it comes as a part of "Calc feature and fixes". Yet,
"DataPilot" should be replaced by "PivotTable" mechanically in this
page.

Best regards,
Takashi Nakamoto

Good point on all of these. The DataPilot section should be moved to the
end of the Calc section and renamed PivotTable. Maybe we could keep it
as a section for this version only as the name has been changed and it
will be easier for users to see the name change.

The localization point about the DataPilot changing name should also be
moved to the PivotTable section.

Should I go ahead and do this?

I think so. Seems no objection.

Moreover, the same modification has already been done by others in the
wiki page you may have referred.
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleaseNotes/3.4

Cheers,
Takashi Nakamoto

Done. Let me know if there are any problems. Also note that I added
"(Pivot Table)" to the title to clarify the change. I also moved the
"Data Pilot is now named Pivot Table" section to the DataPilot section.

Thank you for all your effort. It looks fine. I also updated Japanese
sub site to catch up the changes made for the global page that you maintain.

 Takashi Nakamoto

As I suspected, it really was the indexing that wasn't running at
their end. It was started manually, so existing links do work now.

As the cause of why the indexing cronjob did not start/complete is
unknown (the manual run did complete fine), it might break again for
new postings, but they're investigating

You seem to forget that you're admin on the silverstripe site and can
publish yourself when you see fit :-). But I'll link the CFP from the
conference-homepage and publish it in the next minutes (at first
without the captcha, I'm curious as to when bots/spammers will find
it.
