Marc - if it freezes again you should post a new log - especially since you have now made changes to both the forecast module (which should eliminate forecast related error messages) and also to syslog.conf (which hopefully removes even more logged messages). We don't want to be looking at the

At this point I'm starting to feel like this would be a neat little project for me to get familiar with a number of things (weewx, python, sqlite, etc.), so I'm feeling a bit ambitious and think I'll give this a try myself. I definitely think storing the info in a database is the way to go.

weewx-WD provides warmest night/coldest day stats by maintaining two fields, outTempDay and outTempNight, in the weewx-WD database. Data is stored using the 0600-1800 day. Aggregates over month, year all time etc now become very simple, just part of the standard weewx machinery and you avoid

When I setup a pi for a project be it weewx or 'other'. I use the OS 'minibian' Basically raspian with all the gui removed and stripped to the bone. This allows install of just what is needed for the project to run and nothing more. As for backup, just use rsync to send to a server somewhere.

Yes, I was thinking along those lines as well. This might be the best approach since you're not continually calculating something against a steadily increasing set of data. Putting it in the database would also allow you to see these stats whenever you want, however you want (i.e., coldest

Hi, I'm still figuring things out and I'm making my way through the customization guide and starting to think about my own customizations. One all-time record I used to like from WeatherDisplay was the coldest and warmest day/night stats. A night was 6pm - 6am, and day was the opposite.

When I go to the actual system.log in /var/log and run cat system.log | grep weewx it shows only what I have posted here. This being OSX there must be something else going on. I took me ages to work out how to remedy the "No module named MySQL.db" error, which required this install:
