I've noticed this too but with the Amazon Echo devices. The new WU API key 
is 32 characters in length whereas the old key was 16. I tried to set the 
new API key with the current Weather Underground Alexa skill and "she" 
would only accept the first 16 characters. I'm unable to get the skill to 
work again since the new key is too long. It was a pretty cool skill when 
it was working.
Uploading to WU from my PWS works with no issues.
