I'd be very curious about this as well. I'm starting to build a really
lower power Raspberry Pi Zero and Vantage Pro 2 solution for a remote,
off-grid cabin. I'd love to publish to MQTT locally and use its native
eventual-sync capabilities to push the data up-stream periodically. Locally

little going the other way.
