Hi, The reboot is due to the genset change every 12 hours (shift day night, i'm living off grid) and the rpi3 is not connected to an UPS, as well for the router on which the rpi is connected on. the rpi boot probably faster than my router. So it is not exactly a reboot but a power shut down. F

When I setup a pi for a project be it weewx or 'other'. I use the OS 'minibian' Basically raspian with all the gui removed and stripped to the bone. This allows install of just what is needed for the project to run and nothing more. As for backup, just use rsync to send to a server somewhere. rsy
