I reverted to 3.9.1 and wunderground updates are working again. Ubuntu 16.04, weewx interceptor driver in sniff mode. Syslog covering initial upgrade showed 3.9.1 working until shutdown and 3.9.2 not working after starting up. I told the update to use the original config files, not the new ones

I don't run mine under systemd, however; If I run through the same install process as above, on a machine that has systemd installed I get the same error as you IF I don't have the USB module plugged in when I attempt to start it. So, is yours plugged in when you do the install or attempt the rest

Good to hear it was sorted. Doing the dump will dump all the archive records stored in the logger, there may be lots or there may be nonel, WeeWX will pick up and save any archive records in the logger that are not in the WeeWX database. Any records that are already in the database are ignored.

A follow-up to the memory problem. At present, Weewx will run for 45 days before my script restarts the program at 80% memory usage (approx 1.8% increase/day). I am not home, but when I get back I will shut down SteelSeries gauges and see what effect that has. The gauges are the only extension

Don't worry about owpkg.tar.gz. It was relevant at the time, it's not now. dpkg didn't finish the installation of owserver, it failed for some reason. Possibly a version mismatch? Try refreshing the package database with... sudo apt update then redo the installation... sudo apt install owserver
