Exactly! I forgot to ssy I only access via ssh when I want to look around
the rpi or make changes - not for looking at the weather, for which I use a
browser over the network.

console so it can't be replaced entirely with a receiver.

You can reduce the content of the standard webpages by using the mobile
ones - they work pretty well - or customise the mobile ones to your own
likings perhaps and have the wife use her phone instead of the console!
