Re: [weewx-user] Re: WU rapid fire stops working after upgrade/s

That's why I suggested just changing the version in weewx.conf and trying
to 'fool' WU to see if it is something in THEIR validation procedures - as
the weewx version is part of the rapid fire upload.. just a thought
.

Out of curiosity - change weewx.conf to give the earlier version of weewx -
so that WU think you are using an earlier version - and see what
happens!!!

Just to clarify: the log that you posted on pastebin, included log_success

Re: [weewx-user] Re: WU rapid fire stops working after upgrade/s

2016-12-03 Thread Thomas Keffer
The log looks fine.

Two more things to try.

1. Using a web browser, try posting directly to the RF server. That is,
take one of the URLs in the log, replace XXX with your WU password, then
put it in a browser and hit enter. After a second or two, the server should
respond with 'success'. If this is not working, then there is definitely
something wrong with the WU server. You can use the following URL, or any
of the others in your log.

http://rtupdate.wunderground.com/weatherstation/updateweatherstation.php?action=updateraw=IQLDAYR2=XXX=weewx-3.6.2=8.0=062=0.00=082=86.8=7.0=2.5=0.00=30.006=72.2=2016-12-03%2023%3A25%3A20=1

2. Add the options log_success and log_failure to your [[Wunderground]]
section. So, now they read something like:

  [[Wunderground]]
# This section is for configuring posts to the Weather Underground.

# If you wish to do this, set the option 'enable' to true,
# and specify a station (e.g., 'KORHOODR3') and password.
enable = true
station  = IQLDAYR2
password = XXX

# Set the following to True to have weewx use the WU "Rapidfire"
# protocol. Not all hardware can support it. See the User's Guide.
rapidfire = True
log_success = True
log_failure = True

Re: [weewx-user] Re: WU rapid fire stops working after upgrade/s

2016-12-03 Thread Thomas Keffer
One more thing to try: set debug=2 in weewx.conf. This will log the URL
 used to contact the WU.

I will be on the road today, so I may not be able to get back to you for a
bit.

Re: [weewx-user] Re: WU rapid fire stops working after upgrade/s

2016-12-02 Thread Thomas Keffer
Here are the lines in the log involving the WU:

Dec  3 09:53:23 Wee_Wx weewx[1714]: engine: Loading service
weewx.restx.StdWunderground
Dec  3 09:53:23 Wee_Wx weewx[1714]: restx: Wunderground-RF: Data for
station IQLDAYR2 will be posted
Dec  3 09:53:23 Wee_Wx weewx[1714]: engine: Finished loading service
weewx.restx.StdWunderground
Dec  3 10:10:20 Wee_Wx weewx[1714]: restx: Wunderground-RF: Failed upload
attempt 1: timed out
Dec  3 11:50:35 Wee_Wx weewx[1714]: restx: Wunderground-RF: Failed upload
attempt 1: HTTP Error 502: Bad Gateway

Not sure exactly what's going on, but the last line suggests it's a problem
with a proxy server. Are you using one? This is a long shot, but the WU
uses a rather odd protocol. It uses an HTTP GET as a way to *post* data. If
you're using one, perhaps your proxy server doesn't like that?

I have no explanation for why it took almost 2 hours for this error to come
back.
