Follow-up Comment #3, bug #25244 (project wesnoth): Yes, I also think it's macOS specific. But I found that typing "/m" or "/ping" in normal chat (instead of command chat opened by typing ":") won't crash my client even when I'm in a game. So that's the workaround for now.
