Hello JJA and all,

Big thanks for that response - i was worried if i have thrown a rot.

The fact is that a "name" or "rename" or "another name" doesn't necessarily
define "who we are" nor does it give us "authority".

I think that regardless of name, the "purpose" which proves and defines the
value of our intentions would work better to tell why we are for who, thus
branding us better or worse than any other network or forum or organisation out
there. I'm very convinced that a rename is not necessary and that we are
already branded in the current name of this network with a stronger sound of
Identity. A name that is simply clear and not overloaded with language but
actually identity.

And our authority shall be derived from how much our "purpose" and
"contributions" appeal to the target community, no matter how many formalities
we go through. The community may go to various supermarket of ideas but will
find some with geniune and fresh products or just best services. I guess we
just need to set how we organise the shelves, lay out the selling space,
counters and directions for the various goods and services, as well as how we
source and dispose the services. Kigs will say the System Set up.

I salute you for the enormous +ve contribution and hence the kilocalories that
you expend on this course. I believe whereever you are, you have the ability to
Set up that desired "System Setup". I pray that you make that your next
Trajectory.

Good on you,

RObetia

Subject: [WestNileNet] IS IT ANOTHER NGO PHOBIA?

Hello Brothers and sisters, I will try to very brief.
While bother Obetia may be rightly worried about the name thing......?
If I remeber correctly, Fr. Rufino raised the question of "who are we". Correct
me if I am wrong.
The question arose out of how do we present the
ideas/suggestions/recommendations we have been raising in regards to:
a) Poor performance in schools
b) Closing of school in Koboko
c) Barifa Issue
d) Poverty and High unemployement

The challenge we have is:
i) who should receive the points we have raised?
ii) what authority do we have to raise these issues? who are we anyway?
iii) If we do not have any kind of authority, will these ideas be accepted by
the respective authorities in the region?

I remember one of the team membes had suggested disseminating the summary
points to radio stations. The consus was we should hold off until we are better
organized.

>From this point,Mr Andema proposed a name " West Nile Global Forum..........

For our disccusion I posted the topic "Who we are? orbetter " Who are we?

If we have difficulty in coming to a conclusion, why don;t we form an AD HOC
COMMITTE to look into this?

I have no doubts that WestNile Net is an excellent medium of communication for
all of us. By no means should anyone attempt to pull people away for his/her
self interest. This is "a micro parliament" where we should cherish our
intellectual wealth, wisdom and diversity of ideas.
