that the FC6 packages of:
wget-1.10.2-7.x86_64.rpm
wget-1.10.2-8.x86_64.rpm
both exhibit the problem but earlier 1.10.2-0 does not.
I think it's probably due to some of the security fixes that RedHat have
applied along the way.

Richard Dale.

as follows:
/usr/bin/wget -r -m ftp://username:[EMAIL PROTECTED]/*
Rather than
/usr/bin/wget -r -m ftp://username:[EMAIL PROTECTED]/
(which worked in earlier revisions of 1.10.2)
This might make a good FAQ item.

Dear Wget team
I recently upgraded a Fedora Core 6 to the latest Wget (1.10.2) and it now
exhibits a problem when trying to mirror files in the root folder of an FTP
site using a command line of:
/usr/bin/wget -m ftp://norgate:[EMAIL PROTECTED]/
The FTP site appears to be a Windows-based system
It would seem that this is not your site then and so if the owner of the
site doesn't want you to download his/her entire site why should you?
Maybe they have banners or something that pays for their hosting costs
and they feel preventing tools like wget form sucking their site is a
way to
, but there is
a hole opened to allow my internal IP to reach the specific remote IP. And
using the first example above it does connect so I know I am getting through
the firewall.
Any ideas or suggestions as to what is going wrong here?
Thanks
Dale
