Maciej Rozycki offered to contribute patches to convert Wget's configure.in to work with Autoconf 2.53. I think the move makes sense; all the new Autoconf development will be on that release, and it makes sense to stay in touch with that.
Does anyone think this might be a bad idea? Are there known problems with configure scripts generated with the latest Autoconf? Speak up now or stay silent forever. :-)
