hi pere,

i don't like the idea of using --passwd=- as a way to prompt the user for a 
password, as this would make impossible for the user to specify "-" as a 
password in a non-interactive way. we should probably have a different switch 
(something like --prompt-for-password) instead.

anyway, i think the first patch you've sent is very useful and as soon as i 
have a couple of minutes to test it, it will surely be merged in the wget cvs 
repository.

in the meantime, i have added an issue (#15) for your patch in our bug 
tracking system:
