It sounds like a bug in your browser. Did you test other browsers

I do not think you can accuse Microsoft of letting a bug in EM.
Things like EM and EX are very GUI-dependent.
I do not have enough time and devotion to keep several browsers up to date.
(I admit I have Safari installed
