Web browser: --- Bug #: 29234 Summary: SUL doesn't prevent someone creating a new account with an already unified name Product: MediaWiki extensions Version: any Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: Unprioritized Component: CentralAuth AssignedTo: vasi...@gmail.com ReportedBy: bawolff...@gmail.com CC: agarr...@wikimedia.org Classification: Unclassified Appearently somehow an "unattached" account was created with my username (bawolff) on tawiki ( http://toolserver.org/~vvv/sulutil.php?user=Bawolff , http://ta.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:ListUsers/bawolff?uselang=en&limit=1 ) My understanding is that CentralAuth should prevent this from happening once an account is unified. The account appears to be someone totally different from me (my password doesn't work with it), it was created last month, which is several years after I unified my account. The account does not appear in the new user log ( http://ta.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=%E0%AE%9A%E0%AE%BF%E0%AE%B1%E0%AE%AA%E0%AF%8D%E0%AE%AA%E0%AF%81%3ALog&type=&user=Bawolff&page=&year=&month=-1&uselang=en ) Expected behaviour: CentralAuth prevents other people from registering accounts that conflict with a unified account name. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug. _______________________________________________ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l
