Now you can't see a real difference between – and −, so a tooltip telling you that the first one is an en-dash and the second a minus would be helpful. [Bug 26566] DynamicPageList uses an unknown ordering method
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=26566 Bawolff bawolff...@gmail.com changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEW |RESOLVED Resolution||DUPLICATE --- Comment #2 from Bawolff bawolff...@gmail.com 2011-01-05 11:19:36 UTC --- DynamicPageList can be configured to use different order methods. The default is the date the category was added (or changed) to the article. Thus, blanking the article and then reverting will make it pop back to the top of the list. Changing the sortkey of a category will also make it pop back to the top (via {{DEFAULTSORTKEY:...}} or [[category:Foo|bar]] syntax). Overly long article titles can sometimes cause issues as well (bug 25254). However in this case, the issue appears to be related to bug 25254. This bug is for pages with long titles, they get moved to the front of the DPL list any time they are edited (including null edits). The weird part is, that the sortkeys don't seem to be getting cut off according to the api, which was my old theory for what was causing bug 25254. Need to investigate further As a work around, when publishing the article, try to specify a sortkey using {{DEFAULTSORT:}} that is 70 characters or less. (things like cx = ĉ count as two characters). *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 25254 *** -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l

[Bug 26581] New: Add a special page interface for allocating, and unallocating elastic IP addresses
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=26581 Summary: Add a special page interface for allocating, and unallocating elastic IP addresses Product: MediaWiki extensions Version: any Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: Normal Component: OpenStackManager AssignedTo: rlan...@gmail.com ReportedBy: rlan...@gmail.com Nova have the concept of elastic IP addresses (similar to EC2). We should expose an interface for users to allocate IP addresses. More investigation on Nova needs to be done on this. We are aiming to have private IP addresses assigned to VMs by default, and we'd like these elastic IP addresses to be public IP addresses. Nova currently only supports one NIC per VM, and one bridge per virtual host. Future plans for Nova include multi-NIC per VM, and multi-bridge per virtual host. We are likely to use NAT at first as a workaround, but I'd like to ensure we can use better openstack features in the future for this. The interface should be written with NAT in mind, but should be extendable to a better option in the future. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l
[Bug 26582] New: OpenStackManager extension needs better error checking

Occasionally timeouts to the EC2 api throw uncaught exceptions that lead to stacktraces in MediaWiki. Also, other conditions, such as bad replies or API failures simply go unchecked resulting in incorrect display, or creation of LDAP objects when Nova objects haven't been properly created. All API errors should be checked, and proper error messages should be displayed. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l

This API works for now, but the OpenStack API is likely to add features that can't be added to the EC2 API, since the EC2 API is controlled by Amazon. We should add support for the OpenStack API, and should default to using that. The id attribute is now in a span nested inside the heading element. Still no help in using CSS to style a particular heading. Currently, explicitly-specified h# is treated pretty much the same as wikitext headings. One solution would be to make the h# contain only the actual title, so instead of h2span class=editsection[a href=/w/index.php?title=T-34amp;action=editamp;section=20 title=Edit section: Referencesedit/a]/span span class=mw-headline id=ReferencesReferences/span/h2 do div id=References class=mw-headlinespan class=editsection[a href=/w/index.php?title=T-34amp;action=editamp;section=20 title=Edit section: Referencesedit/a]/span h2References/h2/div or something. But that would have to be deployed carefully to not break existing content. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. [Bug 16190] Relate section anchors to section headings in HTML
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=16190 --- Comment #7 from Michael Zajac mich...@zajac.ca 2011-01-05 19:45:19 UTC --- @Happy-melon: It looks like those were concerns with that implementation, not with resolving this issue. r52963 didn't allow for a manually-typed ID to override a generated one, but rather created a second ID attribute. But even with the r52963 solution, if an editor NEEDS to add a second ID, why not use an a or other element after the heading? (And if she needs to add a third one, it must be done that way anyway.) I didn't see any evidence that an editor actually needs to manually specify an ID, just the theoretical desire not to change current behaviour. The purpose of the heading ID is to identify the heading element, not just a span of text. @Aryeh Gregor: Why not just change id=Foo to id=Bar in the rare case when an editor specifies it? With the current situation, wikitext is inadequate and I'd have to type HTML for every heading if I want my CSS or Javascript to access them. A surrounding div or HTML5 section would be better still, but much more complicated to implement. Even without it, HTML5 clearly defines the scope of a section, based on the *headings*, so a CSS designer or Javascript can use this, *if* the headings are identified. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug.
