https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13209 Roan Kattouw roan.katt...@home.nl changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEW |RESOLVED Resolution||FIXED --- Comment #30 from Roan Kattouw roan.katt...@home.nl 2009-02-28 13:27:16 UTC --- (In reply to comment #23) I'll think about one-at-a-time fetching and only-if-cached fetching some more later, but right now I just wanna get some sleep :P I decided to go with only-if-cached fetching, which I implemented in r47890. This implementation will let you pull an unlimited number of cached diffs and at most $wgAPIMaxUncachedDiffs (1 by default) uncached diffs. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l

If I understand things correctly, this is responsible for Wikimedia Foundation notices being displayed in the sitenotice for the wiki. These aren't really appropriate for the chapter website, and may lead to the perception that Wikimedia UK has more control over Wikipedia et al. then we do (which is tricky from a legal situation, with the UK's libel laws). For example: After a IP-block with 'flags=anononly, nocreate, noautoblock' the request show this: rcreateaccount/r rread/r redit/r rcreatepage/r rcreatetalk/r rwriteapi/r rcentralauth-merge/r But by the block I lose the right edit, createpage, createtalk and createaccount, but it is not available through the API. Technically, you don't. According to MediaWiki you still have these rights: isAllowed('edit') returns true. However, executing certain actions requires more than just having the right rights, some require you not to be blocked or read-only mode to be off. In other words, having a certain right and being able to execute a certain action are not the same things. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l

The problem here is that MediaWiki treats all extension tags as if they don't contain wikitext, so extensions that do contain wikitext, such as Cite, have to call the parser themselves. [Bug 17724] add patch instructions to a comment at the top of each patch file
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=17724 --- Comment #7 from jida...@jidanni.org 2009-02-28 22:21:05 UTC --- man page says: patch tries to skip any leading garbage, apply the diff, and then skip any trailing garbage. Thus you could feed an article or message containing a diff listing to patch, and it should work. If the entire diff is indented by a consistent amount, or if a context diff contains lines ending in CRLF or is encapsulated one or more times by prepending - to lines starting with - as specified by Internet RFC 934, this is taken into account. After removing indenting or encapsulation, lines beginning with # are ignored, as they are considered to be comments. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. When we choose an article randomly, XXX, we'll get User talk:XXX instead of Talk:XXX and User talk:XXX is surely to be empty. I was told the problem might come from the wrong translation on [1] but no one translated recently. So could you please check this problem for us? Thanks! --Symane 14:51, 27 February 2009 (UTC) So, it seems that clicking on the talk tab for an article leads to a user talk page (with the same name as the article). From my small analysis, [[mwr:46913]] may be responsible for this. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. [Bug 17727] New: Live video streaming
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=17727 Summary: Live video streaming Product: MediaWiki Version: unspecified Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: Normal Component: General/Unknown AssignedTo: wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org ReportedBy: tim...@email.com Currently users can upload images to mediawiki, but not live video streams. Mediawiki should have a feature that allows users to embed their live stream into a mediawiki article page. It should be hosted by the mediawiki software. Users can use their usb webcams or iPhone/iPhone3G. If a live video stream is available on a mediawiki article page, there should be a WATCH button at the top of the page, users click on it, and all the live video streams for that article are displayed. What could this be used for? As an example, say a person saw a plane crash into a river, and it was all over the news and within an hour an article was posted in a wiki, people go to the wiki to read about it, and if a person with a oomputer or cellphone is at the scene and they go to the wiki's url, embed their live video stream, and now people going to the wiki article can watch the plane crash live. In the special pages section there could be a live streams section, and when users go to it, the most viewed streams will be displayed from most viewed to least viewed. The current number of people viewing each live stream should be displayed along with the rating, url, and comments, and there should be a live chatroom box on the video stream page too. The mediawiki live video stream player should use adobe flash or program your own open-source flash player so users don't have to download anything, and it should be widescreen 16:9 and support up to HD 1080i but also support lower quality like HD 1080p, HD 720p, SD(standard definition) 16:9 and SD 4:3(non widescreen). The video player size should be 640x385 pixels. This should be part of the core of the next version of mediawiki because photo uploads is part of the core, so live video streams should be too. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug.
