I'm running Windows 7, FireFox 3.6, screen 1600x1200. I suspected a bug on Commons, and tried again several times to confirm. An unpatrolled edit made by an IP-user, which I rolledback, stays unpatrolled. What you say makes sense, however as I mentioned in the opening; when the block
reason didn't contain a link the table (in wikisyntax {| ) did render
correctly. But when it contained a link it broke and got displayed raw on the
page.
My first thought just now was that maybe that other warning was not displayed
without the wiki-link (as a coincedence) but that thought was wrong. In both
cases there were those two warnings.
Therefor, I think, though your explaination sounds logic, it would either be a
coincedence or something totally different.

I'll add that I have had problem with tidy repeatedly when dealing with
div-based templates. As nearly as I can figure, if a template transcludes a
div that contains a carriage return, like so:
this is the transcluded text
and then that template is indented using wikitext:
:{{template call}}
the resulting HTML will muck up the div tags, adding spurious opening or
closing divs; something like, for example:
this is the transcluded text
I've seen the same effect with other tags - for instance:
:line one
line two
line three
will close the pre block after the first line rather than continuing through to
the closing pre tag that is given.

I doubt this has anything to do with the links in the block summary, and
everything to do with trying to edit a page which is also protected, resulting
in two warnings being displayed, and displayed in a list, thereby breaking the
wikitable syntax because the table opener {| needs to be at the start of a
line. Using a HTML tag instead of wikitables would fix this.
