https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24086 --- Comment #6 from yonidebest yonideb...@gmail.com 2010-06-24 06:46:23 UTC --- Roan, I don't understand why it is a problem to flip the links. All browsers show the same order in monobook. Are you claiming that in vector it's not possible to choose the order as in monobook? Re order of HTML - I don't know what effects the order (I saw the source code was different so I thought that might be the problem). If CSS needs to be fixed, change the CSS so it will work like in monobook. BTW, in he.wikipedia were forced to move new pt-optin-try link using JS. Perhaps you can fix monobook too and move the pt-optin-try link to the end. Roan, IMO changing the inner order of the links won't create display problems in all browsers if there are no display problems right now. All we are doing is replacing a one link with another. BTW, there alreay is a display problem in IE8 with the links, but I figured it was a different problem (I intended to open a seperate bug for it after the order was fixed so that we can deal with one bug at a time). see: http://img688.imageshack.us/img688/8701/10944228.jpg -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l

[Bug 24086] Rearrange the p-personal in rtl languages
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24086 --- Comment #7 from Roan Kattouw roan.katt...@gmail.com 2010-06-24 10:02:54 UTC --- What we're basically saying is that the order in Monobook is wrong because it's not a mirror of the LTR version, so people reading RTL would read the logout link first and the userpage link last. This order is backwards for several reasons (logout link is the first one, user page comes after talk page), so in Vector we flipped the links around so people reading RTL actually read the user page link first (on the right side) and the logout link last (on the left side), just like people reading LTR see the user page link first (on the left side) and the logout link last (on the right side). For this reason, we believe that the Vector order is the more correct one. I can see how it'd be confusing coming from Monobook, though. If the hewiki community wants to use another order, they can rearrange the links with JS. (In reply to comment #6) BTW, in he.wikipedia were forced to move new pt-optin-try link using JS. Perhaps you can fix monobook too and move the pt-optin-try link to the end. The Try Beta link was *intended* to appear at the beginning of p-personal, before the user page link. That's also where it is on LTR wikis: on the left side. On hewiki in Vector, you'll notice that it's on the right side, because that's where the personal tools list begins in RTL. In Monobook it would appear on the left side if it weren't for your local JS moving it to the right. It seems to me that this backs up the argument that it makes sense for p-personal to be flipped in RTL. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l

It means that I've to escape the variable because it may contain special characters (parenthesis, for example). Unfortunately, it looks like there is no function to do this, so I use several str_replace, which is not convenient nor efficient. I suggest the addition of a new function for regex escaping, using preg_quote. The attached patch is *only* an example of what it might look like: the code has not been tested at all (I've no local install of mediawiki right now). If the hewiki community wants to use another order, they can rearrange the links with JS. I disagree. I opened the request because I wanted the change to be encoded into the he.wikipedia source, and not be done using js. From the community's POV, this fix isn't a fix, but a problem. Thus, I don't see why a problem should be reated only for it to be fixed using JS on user-side. The Try Beta link was *intended* to appear at the beginning of p-personal, before the user page link. That's also where it is on LTR wikis: on the left side. On hewiki in Vector, you'll notice that it's on the right side, because that's where the personal tools list begins in RTL. It seems to me that this backs up the argument that it makes sense for p-personal to be flipped in RTL. I disagree. The Try Beta link was inserted without asking the community where they'd like it to be, thus it was fixed using JS. This was not the correct way to handle it, but the easy way. The correct way would have been to fix the source code so that the Try Beta link would appear when the community wishes it to be. The theory that Hebrew speakers read left aligned text in RTL direction needs to be checked. I will present the question to the community and see what the Hebrew speakers think (I read English too, so my opinion isn't worth anything). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l

https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24113 Summary: Values= does not seem to work with show on select functionality Product: MediaWiki extensions Version: any Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: major Priority: Normal Component: SemanticForms AssignedTo: yaro...@gmail.com ReportedBy: mitchell_ne...@hotmail.com CC: wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org Hi. I'm running MW 1.15.3, SMW 1.5.1.1 and SF 1.9.1. When I use values= in conjunction with the show on select functionality of Semantic forms, it doesn't seem to be saving the property value. For example. I have in my form: bPlease select an ethnic group and then tick the category that best fits your ethnic origin./b {| class=formtable ! Ethnic Group: |{{{field|Ethnic Origin Group|default=Not Disclosed|show on select=White=white;Black or Black British=black;Mixed=mixed;Chinese=chinese;Asian or Asian British=asian;Other=other}}} |} div id=white {| class=formtable ! Choose: | {{{field|Origin|values=British,Irish,Any other White origin}}} |} /div div id=black {| class=formtable ! Choose: | {{{field|Origin|values=Caribbean,African,Any other Black origin}}} |} /div div id=asian {| class=formtable ! Choose: | {{{field|Origin|values=Indian,Pakistani,Bangladeshi,Any other Asian origin}}} |} /div and in my template: ! Ethnic Origin | [[Ethnic Origin::{{{Origin|}}}]] In the form the show on select works and the specified values are displayed. e.g. if I select White, I then get a drop down with British, Irish and Any other White origin. I can then pick on of the values. However, when I save, the selected value does not appear in the template and is not assigned to the property. If I then edit with form again the selection is not set. All properties are of type string. Is this a bug? Thanks Neill. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l

https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24073 --- Comment #13 from Derk-Jan Hartman hart...@videolan.org 2010-06-24 18:23:07 CEST --- I got this working, but it is starting to become a bit of a mess. I'm considering introducing a new configuration variable to allow/disallow all zip types, because i already have: ODF, OpenXML, MS Office+OPC zip trailer and setting all that up will start to become more difficult for each and every zip type. With a seperate option, we could just remove the zip and the fake opc mime from the mimeblacklist and adding a seperate config option will make documenting and explaining the risks of zip based fileformats on open websites a lot easier I think. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug.
