Almost all donors who have historically given in JYP have done so through the
Japanese landing pages which are already set for the correct values

http://wikimediafoundation.org/wiki/Donate/ja

If you try and donate in a currency and amount that is less then one dollar
then you already get a javascript warning informing you of the minimum
donation.

We'll certainly continue this practice for any new pages that are created for
this coming up fundraiser.

I would like to have a way to remove it which is 'compatible' with the rest of

[Bug 25533] New: template markers in SF_FormPrinter.php do not work

2010-10-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25533

Summary: template markers in SF_FormPrinter.php do not work
   Product: MediaWiki extensions
   Version: any
  Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
  Keywords: utf8
  Severity: blocker
  Priority: Normal
 Component: SemanticForms
AssignedTo: yaro...@gmail.com
ReportedBy: andreas.pl...@web.de
CC: wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org, andreas.pl...@web.de

Hi Yaron,

in SF_FormPrinter.php around line 1089 preg_replace( '/\}\}/m', '}',... these
template markers seem to cause trouble especially with partial forms. See also
http://scratchpad.referata.com/wiki/Encoding_problems_with_partial_forms. So
forms become more or less useless as no templates can be put into form fields.
BTW this superscript 2 on
http://svn.wikimedia.org/viewvc/mediawiki/trunk/extensions/SemanticForms/includes/SF_FormPrinter.php?revision=73948view=markup
becomes somehow a non utf-8 character (iuml;iquest;frac12;) but on our
wiki we just downloaded SemanticForms with svn. Any fix for that?

Kind regards
Andreas

Yeah, we set the default donation values to match up with the default currency.
However, she does bring up a good point -- do we want to have these defaults
controlled with the template itself? Hmmm, it sounds like a good idea, but it
might be difficult to implement and it might not make sense for every
country... for example, although Bulgaria uses the Euro, we don't want to give
it the same defaults as other European countries, because most Bulgarians can't
afford that.

*Enabling Editnotices on Meta, like on the English Wikipedia or Commons.

Requires a sysop to alter the MediaWiki namespace, transcluding a template

Commons' setup is simpler.

That's about it.

[Bug 25519] non WP sites identifying as WP

2010-10-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon

--- Comment #6 from Ryan Kaldari rkald...@wikimedia.org 2010-10-15 21:20:32

There are three different issues being discussed in this bug, so I'll respond
to each.

1. Banner impressions - Every banner request includes both the site name and
the database name for the wiki. These are pulled from the wgSiteName and
wgDBname javascript variables. You should be able to tell where all banner
request are coming from based on the DB name value.

2. Banner targeting - All wikis are assigned to 1 of 12 different project
categories for banner targeting: wikipedia, wiktionary, wikiquote, wikibooks,
wikinews, wikisource, wikiversity, wikimedia, commons, meta, wikispecies, and
test. This is by design. We can add new project categories if needed. My guess
is that wikis like OutreachWiki and AvisoryWiki should be assigned to
wikimedia rather than wikipedia.

3. Simple English - Simple English Wikipedia is reporting it's
wgContentLanguage as en rather than simple. Thus Central Notice has no way
to correctly target it. A separate bug should be filed for this.

sorry, It isn't reporting as enWiki on the reports we're just getting all the
superfluous clicks/impressions from then while we are trying to target English
Wikipedia (Language= English, Project= Wikipedia) The SimpleWiki thing is an
issue I know could be a problem (We don't have a language code for simple as
far as I know since it's made up in the first place)

Advisory wiki is: http://advisory.wikimedia.org/wiki/Main_Page which is closed
but we've still gotten clicks/impressions from it and Philippe was trying to
find a way to eliminate those if we could.

Do you have any idea what project would be reporting as just 'Wikipedia' rather
then enWiki,frWiki etc? We get a fair amount of those ever test as well.

Potential solution is to just make wfTimestamp just return its second argument
if its converting to TS_MW and the timestamp is already in mediawiki format.
However that would change behaviour if wfTimestamp was passed an invalid
timestamp in mediawiki format and asked to convert to TS_MW (but I can't
imagine anyone is using wfTimestamp to validate timestamps).

Bugs 1 and 2 are commons-js specific and outside of the scope of bugzilla. Try
asking at [[commons:Commons:Village_pump]] (not sure if thats the right place,
but they'd be able to direct you).

bug #3 might be a commons specific bug or a mediawiki bug I'm not sure.

Outreach Wiki does not identify as wikipedia and no campaigns targeted to
wikipedia should be displaying there. I'll double check this during the next
test targeted to en.wiki.

Simple wiki does identify as wikipedia, as it should. However it's language
code should be simple (which does exist as a mediawiki language code), not
en. This should be easy to fix, but it needs to be a separate bug so that we
can get feedback from the proper people first, and make sure that won't break
anything on Simple Wikipedia.

Advisory wiki is reporting as wikipedia. I'll see if we can change this to
wikimedia, which should fix the problem. Let me know if you discover any
more.

I was just thinking about this too.

For the stats that MaxSem added, being able to view a specific users fixme's
would be good

You should use date_create() instead of DateTime, it doesn't throw an
exception.

You are missing timezones.

This line duplication is ugly.
