[Bug 27957] New: User can leave date part empty with datetimepicker
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=27957 Summary: User can leave date part empty with datetimepicker Product: MediaWiki extensions Version: any Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: Normal Component: SemanticFormsInputs AssignedTo: f.tr...@gmx.net ReportedBy: m...@patrick-nagel.net I have a couple of 'input type=datetimepicker' fields in forms - they all have in common, that just entering a time is inacceptable - there can be just a date and no time, or both filled in, but not just a time. datetimepicker happily accepts that though, and saves 'TemplateParameter= hh:mm' (hh:mm being the time entered) when I submit the form. [Bug 11267] User should be able to set fallback language(s) in preferences
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11267 --- Comment #16 from Purodha Blissenbach bugzilla.wikime...@publi.purodha.net 2011-03-09 10:45:36 UTC --- No. My current understanding of the situation is this: Both caching and message handling are in most of their parts not language aware. That means, when for any given language L, messages are taken from one of its (static and fixed) fallback languages, X, Y, Z, these messages are both cached and rendered as if they were in language L. This is wrong but acceptable, because fallback languages rarely change, and so do untranslated messages causing them to be used. If any user can put their own fallback languages somewhere into the chain, some fallback languages depend an arbitrary user viewing a page. Whether or not fallback languages are used at all depends on arbitrary things like cache state. If individual fallback languages are used, they may be cached, and thus are shown to users having the same language L, but may have different fallback languages. That is not acceptable. We need, so to say, to make every message aware of the language it is in, and caching must be done in a way that distinguishes existing language combinations of cached data on a per message basis. Please correct me, if I overlooked something. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. However, when a page changes, Squid only purges the urlencoded URL and doesn't purge the others. This means that anonymous users will see outdated versions of these pages when they visit it through one of the other, unpurged URLs. Besides possibly outdated content, these stale versions also contain pre-ResourceLoader direct CSS links to 1.16 URLs, and of course those 404. For logged-in users, Squid caching is bypassed, so they won't observe this behavior. https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=27961 Summary: Translations made to Vector extension after December don't get deployed to live wikis Product: Wikimedia Version: unspecified Platform: All URL: http://translatewiki.net OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: minor Priority: Normal Component: Site requests AssignedTo: wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org ReportedBy: malaf...@clix.pt Translations I have made to the Vector extension in December are yet not deployed in the live wiki. I.e.: http://svn.wikimedia.org/viewvc/mediawiki/trunk/extensions/Vector/Vector.i18n.php?r1=78229r2=78274 Changes to other message groups (such as Core or Abusefilter) are up to date and I can spot no problem in those groups. When WMF MW version was 1.16 I was told the reason Extension Updater could not update Vector was because of a trunk move of this extension in relation to its branch counterpart. I wonder if this is still the same issue. [Bug 27963] New: Subpages are case-sensitive including first character
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=27963 Summary: Subpages are case-sensitive including first character Product: MediaWiki Version: wikimedia-deployment Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: Normal Component: Redirects AssignedTo: wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org ReportedBy: firstpeterfourten+mwb...@gmail.com When I visit a nonexistent subpage, for example https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Talk:Washington,_D.C./archive_1 it reports that the page does not exist and that Titles on Wikipedia are case sensitive except for the first character. However, the page https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Talk:Washington,_D.C./Archive_1 does exist, and the only difference is the capital A in Archive. The expected behavior is that the first character after a slash in a subpage name should not be case sensitive. Before changing this, have a look at how many pages exist where there ARE two different pages differing only by the case of the first letter after a slash (or multiple case-changes-after-slashes, for nested subpages). Usually one will be a redirect to the other one. Please be sure to keep access to the one that is not a redirect. If you think my intuitive expectation about the behavior is not at all grounded in reasonableness, we should at least update the page not found documentation to note that ALL characters, even the first, in subpage names are case sensitive. I'd rather just have the intuitive behavior, though. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. [Bug 24289] Pass search parameters to the interwiki links on special pages
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24289 ✓ andbe...@web.de changed: What|Removed |Added Priority|Normal |High CC||andbe...@web.de Component|Search |Special pages Summary|Special:Search should have |Pass search parameters to |automatic interwiki links |the interwiki links on ||special pages --- Comment #3 from ✓ andbe...@web.de 2011-03-09 19:12:04 UTC --- I think this would be the best solution for this recurrent issue. Interwiki links at special pages are already possible, for example see http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spezial:Letzte_Änderungen (MediaWiki:Recentchangestext includes the interwiki-link-template for the German main page, which has the advantage that the interwikis are well selected). A cross-project search feature is favored all the time, a quick search gave already Bug 25278, Bug 24658, Bug 22420 and Bug 1837 (not including duplicates). I think providing this at the already existing interwiki portlet is the most intuitive and simple solution, which also does not need a multi-project content search. So I'm capturing this bug and giving it a more general approach: Pass the url parameters at special pages on to the interwiki links (when there are some). This should be comparatively easy, there's just one ambitious thing: localised parameter values, for example go=Artikel, should be internationalized or simplified to e.g. go=1 or fulltext=fulltext. This feature is most needed at Special:Search, and the parameter replacement could be hardcoded for that, but it would be even better if it worked on every special page. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. [Bug 27963] Subpages are case-sensitive including first character
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=27963 --- Comment #3 from WBTtheFROG firstpeterfourten+mwb...@gmail.com 2011-03-09 20:50:39 UTC --- (In reply to comment #1) This would lead to a number of unobvious breakages. For example, if we remove a namespace from $wgNamespacesWithSubpages - what will happen to: a) page titles, b) links to subpages? I'm not sure that fixing this bug would actually make a difference in the answer to these questions. Removing the subpage feature of a namespace would have the same effect whether the first letter was case-sensitive or case-insensitive. What happens now? There might possibly be a few letters of case sensitivity added in the event that the subpage feature is removed, thereby breaking a few links, although a little redirect maker script (using What Links Here) could address that if needed. Please post more of those possible unobvious breakages that you noted - as many of them as you can think of. (In reply to comment #2) It should be all (case insensitive) or nothing. The documentation, including what's shown on the nonexistent page message, states that the first letter is case insensitive, and that's what I think most users expect. There are reasons for that decision, which you can probably find in the discussion where it was set (although I don't personally know where that is). If you want to change that policy, it's a bigger issue probably out of scope of this bug. I'm just looking for consistent behavior. The first character after the slash should be case-insensitive. I would not oppose making the whole string case-insensitive, but I think others would. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug.
