https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=27915 --- Comment #14 from Paine Ellsworth pain...@aol.com 2011-03-17 10:11:58 UTC --- (In reply to comment #13) (In reply to comment #12) oh, darn. so. if the little checkmark boxes are relatively easy to encode, but the code to make the selections drop off the list is a real pain, then it would certainly help to at least have those little boxes to check off when we've read an item. That would give us an at-a-glance aid to see where we've been and don't have to go again, isn't that so? Making a checkmark box and making things drop off the list (esp for watchlists which are customized per user) are about the same difficulty The code which keeps track of what you've already looked at hasn't been touched in a while, and is a little bit scary... [Bug 27836] Some images do not display unless user is logged-in
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=27836 --- Comment #8 from Aaron Schulz jschulz_4...@msn.com 2011-03-17 16:01:15 UTC --- I still don't get why http://pl.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Specjalna%3ARejestrtype=user=page=Plik%3APOL+wojew%C3%B3dztwo+kujawsko-pomorskie+COA.svgyear=month=-1tagfilter=hide_review_log=0 is empty though. Anyway, if image is moved from title X to Y and a new one uploaded over X, stable versions of pages using X will look for the version of the file named X with the proper timestamp. This will fail, since that version is now under title Y. As long as the page using X shows up as having pending file changes (it will after r82917), this is more tolerable. FlaggedRevs does store the sha1 of the proper version of files that it want's to use. This means that it could fetch the files it wants by (sha1,timestamp), which, in this case, would get around this problem (since it isn't using the name). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. [Bug 28097] New: Cannot login when database is on a different server than the webserver
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=28097 Summary: Cannot login when database is on a different server than the webserver Product: MediaWiki Version: 1.16.2 Platform: PC OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: major Priority: Normal Component: User login AssignedTo: wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org ReportedBy: etiennefal...@gmail.com Hi all, I've ran into a weird trouble and I need a hand. We have two webservers that provided redundancy. The web sites are simply copy/pasted from the primary to the backup server. The load balancing is all done on the network side. Hence, we have to have the same web sites on both servers, otherwise the page won't show half the time the user browse to it. Same with the wiki page. So, I created the wiki page on the backup server, and linked it to the database on the primary. (i know... not totally redundant, but if we lose the master, the wikipage is the last of our trouble) Once I granted database acces to the backup server, it worked like a charm. I can browse the entire wiki site without a glitch. Then I tried to login a local user. I get this error: Loggin error You have not specified a valid user name. It does work when you browse the primary, but not on the backup. the users are stored in the database, and since all the rest of the site is also pulled from the database I can't see why it's not working. Here's our configuration: Windows server 2008 R2 IIS7 PHP 5.3.5 MediaWiki 1.16.2 MySQL 5.1.53 It might have something to do with the the IIS authentication... but honestly I have no clue. I have no windows events or php_errors relative to that issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated. [Bug 28069] MediaWiki fails streaming files when mod_deflate and ob_gzhandler are also set (Content-Encoding: , gzip)
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=28069 --- Comment #6 from Dan Nessett dness...@yahoo.com 2011-03-18 00:32:53 UTC --- (In reply to comment #5) Created attachment 8309 [details] Ignore empty Content-Encoding in mod_deflate I checked php.ini on our wiki server and output_handler=ob_gzhandler isn't set. Maybe it is set in LocalSettings? Some old LocalSettings may enable it. Yes, it was being set in LocalSettings. I reported this problem on apache bugzilla (https://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=50935) and the ticket was closed as invalid, stating. There are known mod_deflate issues in 2.2.3 which match the described symptoms. The maintainer did not reference any tickets that described these known mod_deflate issues, so it is hard to say whether this is a legitimate comment or a smoke screen. I have asked for a clarification. It is reproduceable in 2.2.17, and the fix is as simple as checking at line 565 if the field is empty. I'm attaching a patch for that. It's not clear if it should be done, given that the input is not rfc conformant, either. I also have created a coding workaround for ConfirmAccount that uses a global to turn off compression when sending CVs. I will open a ticket and supply the patch as an enhancement request for ConfirmAccount if deactivating mod_deflate doesn't solve the problem. You can also backport r84060. Since turning off mod_deflate is a workaround, I have discarded the patch. Backporting r84060 seems the best way forward. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l
