Now we need to translate it into English(en). So I installed the Translation extension. But when I want to translate an article it seems to ignore the Default language[1]: If I Mark an (de)Article for translation and go to title=Spezial:Translategroup=page|testlanguage=en then there are no untranslated parts. Which is wrong because the site was in German. On the other side title=Spezial:Translatetask=untranslatedgroup=page|I18n+testlanguage=de shows all the german parts as not translated. Which is just as wrong. Translate Should use the Default (wgLanguageCode) to determine the basic Language, or there should be an Option per Page to set the origin language. The search button in Vector has two minor CSS issues:
1. The looking glass image is too high in IE and Chrome, but looks OK in
Firefox. Patch adjusts padding-top for button#searchButton from 0.2em to 0.3em,
fixing the alignment in these browsers, with no visible difference in firefox
(which adds 2px padding to buttons while other browsers don't).
2. The search button is styled extensively to remove any button properties, but
allows background-image styles from generically-styled button elements to leak
through. Patch adds {background-image: none;} to fix this.
(Note: I don't know if this impacts bug 25215 / r73427; I cannot see the CSS
from that file being served anywhere, which means that it probably is not live
yet? In that case, this patch may be a better resolution.)

well, the implementation is buggy, the icons added by mediawiki and semantic
mediawiki show of with $this-html('poweredbyico') but the one added through
$wgFooterIcons does not show up

The JS bindings check explicitly for a link inside a tab with id ca-wikilove;
this works on Vector and Monobook, but on Classic skin (in 1.17 and current SVN
trunk) it ends up with a bare a href=#, not inside a surrounding tab. So
the link is there, but isn't found by the bindings in $.wikiLove.init():

Since there's no actual destination URL specified, the link is also completely
useless if JavaScript is disabled, for any skin.
If a non-JavaScript behavior is not possible, the tab should either not be
added in the original HTML, or it should at least be hidden by default CSS
that's undone when JS is available.

Revision view: * revision paging links may need RTL forced (r12345 and ViewVC are LTR chunks and it seems to get confused on the overall order of pieces; I think they should show something like this in he: r10001 (ViewVC ##) r1 r as equivalent of en: r r1 (on ViewVC) r10001 but currently show something awful like: ViewVC) | r10001##) r r1 * commit messages should probably be shown in LTR blocks, as they're generally going to be English * ... I'm actually not sure what the best handling for file paths is. The PNG and GIF in theory should render the same (but then the truecolor grayscale/indexed PNG should also render the same!). After a couple of hours, around 8 PM, the 800px thumbnail was updated to reflect the changes, but anything else (the small thumbnails and the full-size image) is not. The version of the code which uses MW variables was tested (on 29 June 2011),
before saving the edit. Then, some days after that the code suddenly stops
working because, on 1 July 2011, the value returned by {{CURRENTDAY}} is 1
instead of 01.
I think MW users can't be supposed to guess that MediaWiki outputs are
inconsistent.
