*One suggession was given to use 'added_lines rlike "\bतू\b" ' but this also
did not work. 

*It seems Some youropean languages had problems  related to \b parameter and
those are resolved so request to developers to support devanagari script using
languages in this respect.

At Marathi language wikipedia usually I am useing
"contains_any(added_lines,"तू")"parameter to filter  a given word,since say i
want to stop use of word "तू" .

To avoid false positives due to prefixes and suffixes to the word; we want to
use parameter \b as word boundry on either side of the word or both side of the
word as per reuirement.   

We wish we should be able to use 

*contains_any(added_lines,"तू\b"),should work, so that we do not get a false
positive on word "तूप" and many similler words.

*contains_any(added_lines,"\bतू"),should work, so that we do not get a false
positive on word "धातू" and many similler words.   

*contains_any(added_lines,"\bतू\b"),should work,so that we do not get a false
positive on word "दुकानातून" and many similler words.

The related edit(abuse) filter on Marathi language wikipedia is
http://mr.wikipedia.org/wiki/विशेष:दुरूपयोग_गाळणी/10 

For words where prefixes and suffixes are less we are using ! parameter but
this parameter is not sufficient in words where too many suffixes or prefixes
are possible.

If  parameter \b can work or any other good option for word boundry it will be
usefull to many devanagari script using wikis like Hindi and many other.

Wikimedia is about spreading free knowledge, and our users will benefit from
knowing that they can change the size of the fonts from their browser, isn't
it?

Facebook seems also to be doing well and they also don't offer any hint in
their UI - see e.g.

I never liked those font size gadgets in UI and I personally think that we
shouldn't be doing them. Especially not in our official skins / engine. If
someone wants this there is probably a way to have it via gadget.

On a patch set some discussion has arisen about PHPDoc[1]. This comes from
using the latest specification of doxygen, that is apparently not used to
generate the MediaWiki source documentation. [2] is using doxygen 1.7.6.1
instead of the more recent doxygen 1.8.

In terms of complexity, jobs-loop.sh has become complex enough that its shell
script implementation is awkward. Porting it to a proper language like PHP
would increase the number of people who could meaningfully contribute to it.

The following features would be desirable:

* The ability to wrap runJobs.php in a per-section PoolCounter pool. It has
recently become apparent (Ie5bb11b0) that if the CPU power available to the job
runners is going to be efficiently utilised, then the number of job runners
running on any given DB master needs to be limited. 

* A configuration file. Currently Puppet configures jobs-loop.sh in two
different ways simultaneously: by changing the command line parameters via
JR_EXTRA_ARGS in mw-job-runner.default, and by altering the code itself by
making the shell script be a template. I don't think either is an especially
elegant configuration method.

* The ability to check for the exit status from runJobs.php, somehow avoiding a
tight loop of respawns. 

* An error log might be nice too.

If I block an account on test.wikipedia.org that has no user page, the block
does not show up in Special:Watchlist. The block will not appear on
Special:Watchlist regardless of whether I later add the user's user page to my
watchlist or if I select the "watch this user's page" checkbox during the block
submission.

If I create the user page after the account has been blocked, the block _still_
does not appear at Special:Watchlist. This may be a separate bug.

If the user page already exists when I block the account, I can watch or
unwatch the user page at my discretion and the relevant block entry will appear
at Special:Watchlist depending on whether I'm watching the user's user page.
(This is the correct behavior.)

Hmmm. Is this still happening? Is it happening for all users or just
certain users?

I'm having a related issue right now where blocks aren't showing up on my
watchlist, but I'm fairly sure it's due to the users not having a user page
when I blocked them.

(), I created User:6295 on
test.wikipedia.org (using an admin account, as a global blacklist rule prevents
strictly numeric usernames...). I blocked the account with my main account
(User:MZMcBride) and the post-block success screen, Special:Log/block,
Special:BlockList, Special:RecentChanges, and the various log excerpts (at
Special:Contributions, etc.) all look fine to me.

Special:Watchlist isn't showing the block of User:6295, but I think that's
because the user did not yet have a user page (or possibly because the user
account name was numeric...). This is a separate issue that I'll investigate
elsewhere.

I made User:6295 an admin on test.wikipedia.org and self-blocked. When I visit
 while
logged in as the self-blocked User:6295, I see:

The block was made by Jimbo Wales. The reason given is testing.

I think the bug 39342 should be fixed in SMW 1.9.0: using the Type:Date is not
really possible in French (and I assume in other languages with special
characters too, given the bug nature) since several months cannot be used as
values.

In the comments I propose a small fix that I think harmless, it mainly needs an
eye more used to the SMW code to confirm it is ok (or not).

I'm not sure it should be a blocker though, if the proposed fix is not enough.

It seems Echo is exhibiting the same behavior (its notifications are all
lowercase in Monobook), presumably due to the same issue (text-transform:
lowercase; being opt-out rather than opt-in). Perhaps Monobook ought to flip
its default and perhaps consequently this bug should be against MediaWiki core
instead of against UniversalLanguageSelector. Thoughts?

In MediaWiki messages that display usernames, if the parameter input is
numerical, the software assumes that it must be a user id. This breaks the
message for users with purely numerical usernames.

This bug came to light after [[User:7]] on the English Wikipedia blocked
themselves for April Fools, but the blocking user was displayed as
[[User:Joao]] (user id 7). See the following:

After calling setLanguage($lang) on a new DerivativeContext, retrieved messages
would be in the original context's language.  I did not see an obvious problem

From #wikimedia-mobile just now -- it'd be nice if there were a relevant
version number in those parentheses (MediaWiki core and/or MediaWiki's
MobileFrontend extension), but it's not necessary.

 out of curiosity, what's supposed to be in there?
 sumanah - yuvi made the template specifically for apps, which come
with a version number. that's what that param was for
 then we just sorta ganked it for mobile web, but mobile web doesn't
have versions :)

This is suppose to be the version number but the mobile site doesn't really
have a version #.

Template can hopefully be improved to deal with the existing photos that don't
use this? Yuvi..?

in the file description telling me:

Should there be something between those parentheses?

I'm on Firefox 19.0.2 on Ubuntu.

Agreed. I fixed my usage early today (merge still needed

Lowering priority. @-annotations need to be used before a declaration or before
a selector (to have it apply to all declarations in that rule).

Using it within a declaration is invalid use and should be ignored by CSS.

It generating invalid CSS is a bug, but even when we fix this bug, it still
won't do what you want it do do, which is to embed the image.

So, for now, please fix the stylesheets (which you'll have to do anyway).

True, but if the only use case for a feature is a misuse, then it does not make
sense to implement it, would you agree?

I'm pretty sure that adding options for this will solve nothing but allow the
developer to make things inconsistent and flip or don't flip based on personal
preference which means the same situations will sometimes be flipped and
sometimes not based on the developer's decision, that I will not support.

Indeed, in the most common case the shadows will not look broken both when
they're flipped and when they're not flipped.

So, then. If the use case I pointed out as misuse is not the use case you push
to enable flipping, then what is? When would you enable flipping for a shadow,
and why?
