Supposing the very realistic display in Wikipedia of a world map in which 200 countries are highlighted one by one in the 50 languages one by one. That makes 10 000 SVG files. And as the languages in the world are over 5000, counting a potential 500 for the main ones would make the figure 100 000. Various MediaWiki instances make it hard to me to make changes since the edit
window is severely impaired having strange fonts.
Adding
textarea { font-family:monospace }
to the personal commons.css sometimes helped but not always. Now, on a slow
computer, I saw the edit window appear monospaced immediately after the change
to common.css, only to watch it being garbled to something hardly readaly
immediately thereafter.
I suggest to stop using scripts to mess around with things users already set
the way they want it. KISS!

The [[File:..]] syntax might then become very mysterious. (This is probably my main worry) *There's possibly some issues with scalability related to how we store files. While trying to edit the sidebar on my wiki, I hit the preview button. But what's previewed bears little resemblance to an actual sidebar; it appears to not be parsed the same, and it's not a useful tool to see what effect my edits actually have. As a result, last night's RecentChanges is full of me commiting a half-dozen attempts.
