Go to (say) https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Visual_editor&veaction=edit 2. Place the cursor after the end of a paragraph (e.g. after the full stop in "editors are.") 3. Hit the delete key to merge the paragraph with the subsequent one. 4. Type any character (a letter, blank, etc.) Result: Chaos ;) - large swaths of text are deleted, and (apparently) random characters appear near the beginning of the page. This reminds of me the "don't leave a redirect" functionality when moving a page. The functionality was originally added only to the API's move action and eventually it was declared that API functionality and UI (index.php) functionality at Special:MovePage should not intentionally diverge like this. That is, index.php?action=purge should probably include the force[recursive]linkupdate parameter as well. Why are these options necessary? Which use-cases is the API purge action and
its additional parameters solving?

There are many ideas to explore here. For example, we could make purging more
probabilistic by purging pages (including links updates0 every thousandth or
millionth view.

api.php?action=purge can do more than index.php?action=purge - the

Assume we have a page containing [[Category:{{CURRENTTIMESTAMP}}]]. Maybe we
can deprecate the "parser cache clearing action" by postprocessing parser
output or simply disabling parser cache, but I don't think we'll find a way to
update the categorylinks row every second. In this case a "link updating
action" is still needed. The equivalent thing on index.php is a null edit.

The glyphs in the legend look quite a bit different viewing the svg in firefox vs our png - however I don't even know which one is correct as I don't speak farsi. However, the png thumb of the svg looks similar to [[File:Stuxnet-influence_chart.png]] as well as the text actually printed out on my computer, so I'm leaning towards our svg renderer being correct. The svg you link as an example specifically declares the font to be arial. Intention:
Reviewing files in [[commons:CAT:FLICKR?!]], where a lot of files either do not
have a source URL linking to the Flickr file description page or no URL at all.
Steps to Reproduce:
Using UploadWizard, uploaders (new user) do:
1. select "did not create it myself" > "from Flickr with right license"
2. enter values in "source" and "author" than can be completely meaningless
3. have uploaded files with a {{Flickrreview}} tag which FlickrreviewR 2 later
replaces with a {{User:FlickreviewR/reviewed-nosource}} tag
Actual Results:
Regularly there is a backlog at [[commons:CAT:FLICKR?!]] (Unsourced Flickr
images reviewed by FlickreviewR).
Expected Results:
UploadWizard should disallow uploads from Flickr (via harddrive) that do not
have a valid (or, at least any) URL as source parameter of the {{information}}
template. (I personally do not see a reason why UploadWizard only reviews
Flickr upload requests of license reviewers before it performs them, but this
is out of the scope of this bug report.)

Parsoid produces the markup. Flow has a bug 61786 to style that HTML better (borders and Enlarge/magnify icon). More notes from Gergő's on this: * MultimediaViewerHooks::getModulesForArticle() - this checks if the image has any articles at all. It uses $out->getFileSearchOptions(), dunno if that works with Flow. If not, you need to add another exception like the one we have for file pages. * processThumb() in mmv.bootstrap.js - this is the that selects the actual images from the DOM. * MultimediaViewerHooks::thumbnailBeforeProduceHTML() adds size information to images and createNewImage() in mmv.js reads it back. The current proposal is to provide this table on labs. It has also been suggested that: 1) we remove the whitelist altogether and provide everything; and/or 2) we sample down the timestamp to -MM so that it is more difficult to map "last active" to editors on small wikis. I still have a few concerns: 1) I still don't know how we created the original whitelist, or how we plan to create the new one. (Note that if we trust our anonymization, having a whitelist probably isn't necessary.) 2) I'm still concerned about the impact on anonymity of small wikis. Rounding to months helps, but could still be problematic in at least some cases (as Krinkle pointed out). I do not have a great solution to these questions.
