Aha, yes, when the only warning is the browser warning I also get this.
However, if e.g. you try to edit the Main Page of enwiki you get the other two
notices (protected page and edit notice) each time.

Note that the 2-line VE toolbar takes up enough space that 3 lines from
[[Lamb]] are missing between the 2 screens, which makes "Pgdn" (and anything
else that does the same thing) useless for reading the whole article. Also, the
VE toolbar appears to be a lot bigger than it needs to be, both because it
takes up 2 lines (if the user has clicked Ctrl-+ at least once, and many do),
and because the icons and letters are much larger than they need to be (that
is, much larger than the text font).

I'm suggesting that this bug is particularly important because this will be
your target viewer's first impression ... in the first few seconds they're
exposed to VE, they'll be seeing a much smaller window to edit in (the WP menus
including the 2-line VE toolbar take up a quarter of the vertical space), and
that paging down is useless for reading the article. Some people make snap
judgments based on first impressions.

I spoke with  this evening since he was having some trouble with his
mobile app. The app requests thumbnails of various heritage-protected buildings
for displaying to a user. The requests to thumb.php are proxied via a single
server as an anonymous user.

Flexman is hitting the ping limiter but doesn't feel he's requesting 70 thumbs
in 30 seconds (or 700 in 30 for standard thumbs). I can't find any evidence in
fluorine:/a/mw-log/limiter.log (or the archives) that his IP is hitting the
limits.

We're going to do some live testing tomorrow so I can tail things in real time.
Putting this bug in for tracking so I don't forget.

UploadWizard goes up 5 steps on the parent category chain of the template and
expects to find Category:License tags, but does not. This is almost correct, as
{{free screenshot}} is not really a license template, but it can take a
template name as a parameter, so I suppose we should treat it similarly to
{{self}}.

you could just change the selector from $('a.external') to $('a.external,
a[rel="mw:ExtLink"]'). then it would work for all parsoid content, but i don't
have an edit button for that gadget.

As an aside, in desktop browsers you can typically see where a link goes by
hovering it and looking at the bar on the bottom of the browser(in chrome and
firefox, maybe others).

I don't think it's a problem with the hash. If I try it with an h2 header, it
works fine. It appears to only fail for sections that are collapsed.

has to trust that the person who inserted the link will not send the reader to
a site that might be a problem for that reader. Gonna be honest, there aren't a
lot of people I trust that well; even people I know who have acted in good
faith have inserted links that I don't want to follow or that will create
problems for some users.  [Note: admins can click "edit" and see the link, but
non-admins cannot do so]"

Images are cropped in Hovercards, which sometimes looks quite bad. Particularly
logos (screenshot 1) and album covers (screenshot 2). Occasionally portraits of
people will be cut off right in their hairline (screenshot 3).

The best of our images, are already scrupulously cropped/framed, so it would be
ideal to present to readers, exactly the images that our editors intended.

Oh, that's a misunderstanding: I want to maintain the 1:1 mapping (or, in other
words, at most one web something per tool), but if a tool wants to use
something different than lighttpd/Tomcat, they shouldn't be forced to run their
custom server on tools-webgrid-*, and on the other hand the webgrid hosts
should be exclusively used for lighttpd/Tomcat.

The same thing (mail being stuck in the queue) happened previously when
~/.forward had wrong permissions and is thus apparently a design choice by the
Exim developers.  It makes some sense because otherwise mail to a user with an
improper ~/.forward would be misrouted to for example local storage with no
indication to the user about that, while the "we'll keep trying" approach shows
up at least in the mail queue and thus potentially in the admins' eyes.

No, that is set up by the shell.  cat does not know which file (or pipe) its

The following steps ensure reproducing the issue for all images:

1.Insert a new image in a page and save the page
2.Reopen the page and go to the Advanced Settings of the image
3.Click on custom tab and click on Apply Changes

6.Click on Default tab and click on Apply changes

You will see the error and get stuck inside the media settings dialog box

I need to put some identifier in  to map actions & format in ApiFormatBase.php
& hyperlink it. Right now we are using '*' to bold things and likewise i used %
for format && %% for action. I don't why i picked it. But somehow foolishly
with same thought it just breaks things in requests like
api.php?action=parse&text=%25%25foo&title=Foo&prop=wikitext. 

Any thoughts on same?

scroll bar gets wider

Steps to reproduce:

1.Open a page with VE in Firefox
2.Open any drop down box which has a scroll bar in it
3.Hover over the scroll bar

Observed Result:
The scroll bar becomes a bit wider

[Bug 64723] VisualEditor: The Media dialog doesn't seem to apply any padding beneath the alt text input box, so it can almost overlap with the border of the dialog in Firefox (but not Chrome?)

The same issue appears to be in the Reference dialog box as well ,the "Use this
group" textbox overlaps with the border of the dialog in Firefox
